Info

Located in the very centre of Australia and surrounded by deserts on all sides, the Araluen Arts Centre in Alice Springs is one of the most remote regional galleries and theatres in the country, set in the 9 hectare Araluen Cultural Precinct, itself home to Central Australia’s key cultural institutions and collections.  Araluen’s theatre program is a mix of national, international and local performances and Araluen is home to one of the most important art collections in Australia, with a focus on Central Australian artists and the beginning and continuing development of contemporary Australian Aboriginal art. Established in 1984, Araluen has presented nationally significant exhibitions and built a permanent art collection reflecting artistic practice from Central Australia and the Western Desert Region.  Home to the signature Desert Mob exhibition and cultural events every September since 1991, Araluen is your must-visit destination for experiencing the art and culture of Central Australia.
