Araluen Arts Centre's COVID Safety

Our Safety Plan has been approved by the Northern Territory Govenment and we encourage all visitors to familiarise themselves with these guidelines to ensure a smooth visit to both our galleries and theatre.

Social Distancing

In line with advice from the Northern Territory Chief Health Officer, Araluen Arts Centre’s theatre can now operate at 100% capacity. This means there may be patrons occupying the seats directly beside, behind or in front of you during a performance. Masks are not required however Araluen encourages patrons to wear masks if this makes them feel more comfortable in the auditorium.

If patrons feel uncomfortable sitting directly next to someone, please speak to our Box Office team when booking your ticket to establish if Araluen can accommodate socially distant seating arrangements (please note this can only be done by ringing the Box Office on 8951 1122 and not via online ticketing). You can also speak to our Ushers prior to the performance to enquire about this, but please be aware that socially distanced seating will not be possible if the performance is sold out.

We encourage you to observe social distancing in our foyer and whilst queueing at our bar, box office and entering and exiting our auditorium. We also encourage you to limit contact with a groups and individuals not known to you, to less than 15 minutes.

To mitigate the risks of queuing, we will have both the Eastern and Western toilets open for use, as well as the Eastern and Western doors for entry into the auditorium.

We strongly encourage visitors to book their tickets ahead of time, this ensures less queuing at Box Office prior to performances.

Contact Tracing and Staying Away

Whilst we ask for your name and phone number when booking tickets, we do ask that you still use The Territory Check In App and QR code or our paper forms to sign in on the night. We request that if you are unwell you do not visit the Araluen Arts Centre.

In addition please stay away from our venue if you have:

  • Been required to self-isolate under laws aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19
  • Been diagnosed as having COVID-19
  • Experienced symptoms including fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, shortness of breath, runny nose, or loss of taste or smell in the last 14 days
  • You or a member of your household has been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19
  • You or a member or your household has been in close contact with anyone displaying COVID-19 symptoms
  • You or a member of your household has travelled overseas in the past 14 days
  • You or a member of your household has travelled to a COVID-19 hotspot in Australia in the past 14 days

If you cannot attend a performance for any of the above reasons, please contact our Box Office team prior to the performance. Araluen is committed to mitigating health risks to our patrons and community and will refund tickets to patrons who need to stay away from our venue due to the above reasons.
