Rex Battarbee Collection
The Rex Battarbee Collection was acquired by the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) in 1998 from the artist’s daughter, Gayle Quarmby, and is on permanent loan to the Araluen Arts Centre. It consists of almost 200 works created by artists of the Hermannsburg School, including Albert Namatjira, Rex Battarbee and other key artists. These artworks, which date from 1924 to 1972, represent a comprehensive record of the Hermannsburg art movement.
