Desert Mob Retrospective

For 30 years the Araluen Arts Centre has been hosting the annual Desert Mob exhibition and acquiring artworks for the Araluen Art Collection. In 2021 the Desert Mob component of the Collection comprises 260 artworks across all media and spans the vast Country and language groups represented in Desert Mob. These artworks provide a significant record of artistic innovation by First Nations artists across Central Australia and demonstrate deep cultural knowledge and sovereignty. The Desert Mob 30 retrospective exhibition, curated to celebrate Desert Mob’s 30th Anniversary, consists of 50 artworks and showcases the energy, vibrancy and accomplishments across the last three decades of some of Australia’s most important art movements.
