Award-winning post-punk comedy sensations, Otto and Astrid return to the Araluen Arts Centre

The Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture’s Araluen Arts Centre presents Otto & Astrid: Eurosmash!, a post-punk rock ‘n’ roll cabaret from brother and sister duo Die Roten Punkte.

“We are excited to have Otto and Astrid return to Alice Springs with a new show of fabulous songs and hilarious sibling tantrums,” Senior Director of the Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture’s Araluen Cultural Precinct, Dr. Mark Crees said.

Eurosmash packs the best and worst of Eurovision into a night of riotous entertainment and will delight audiences with some hilarious, truly-catchy and award-winning pop songs.”

Fans of Spinal Tap and Flight of the Conchords will love Otto and Astrid from Die Roten Punkte. Their characters being orphaned as kids, the brother and sister duo found shelter in a Berlin squat and never looked back.

In this, Otto and Astrid's latest show, the dysfunctional siblings are ready for mainstream chart success. It’s a tough choice between dancing and laughing, as this duo kick out some mother smashing jams.

“Otto and Astrid have opened for Amanda Palmer and The Grand Theft Orchestra in Europe, Australia and USA and have sold out shows across Edinburgh, Montreal, New York and Dublin.”

Eurosmash is one of the most irreverent and funny gigs you are ever likely to see filled with lipstick-smeared tantrums and wild songs played live onstage.”

Otto & Astrid: Eurosmash! will be live onstage at the Araluen Arts Centre on Saturday 8 June, 8.00pm.

Ticket prices are $45 for adults, $40 for concessions and $35 for Araluen Arts Centre Members. Araluen Arts Centre Members with a concession card can purchase tickets for $30.

Tickets are available online at www.araluenartscentre.nt.gov.au or from the Araluen Box Office on (08) 8951 1122.
