Young Archie Mparntwe

Art Award

The Araluen Arts Centre is one of selected few venues to host the tour of the 2024 Archibald Prize and the only venue outside of NSW. In fact, this is the first time in its history the Archibald Prize will travel to the Northern Territory and will be presented in the Araluen Galleries from 25 April to 15 June.

Running parallel to the exhibition is our local version of the Young Archie competition the Young Archie Mparntwe. This competition is open to young people aged 5 to 18 years old across four categories and the entries will be exhibited alongside the Archibald Prize exhibition in the Araluen Galleries. The competition will be judged by Hetti Perkins, based on merit and originality.

  • Competition opens Monday 3 February 2025.

  • Entries close 5pm Monday 31 March 2025.

  • Finalists will be displayed  24 April to 15 June 2025.

  • Finalists and winners announced Thursday 24 April 2025
