Gutsy Girls Adventure Film Tour 2025

Film Festival

The Gutsy Girls Adventure Film Tour is back and bolder than ever, kicking off its ninth annual tour across Australia this August with a brand-new line-up of powerful, heart-pounding, and deeply inspiring films.

Brace yourself for an exhilarating showcase of female adventurers pushing boundaries and defying expectations!

The 2025 Gutsy Girls Adventure Film Tour brings you 2½ hours of adrenaline-fuelled action and soul-stirring stories from fearless women around the globe.

This year’s line-up features eight extraordinary short films capturing the raw intensity of: breathtaking mountaineering expeditions in the Alps, gravity-defying mountain biking with Kiwi legend Robin Goomes, subterranean exploration with world-renowned cave diver Jill Heinerth, groundbreaking hybrid sport snowboard BASE jumping in the Canadian Rockies and former NZ Olympain turned North Face athlete Janina Kuzma carving new lines in motherhood and adventure.

Dedicated to showcasing the untold stories of adventurous women from around the world, the 2025 edition is a celebration of courage, resilience, and the unstoppable spirit of outdoor exploration. Whether descending snowy peaks, riding skatepark rails, or diving into hidden worlds beneath the surface, this year’s film selection promises to inspire audiences of all ages.

One standout story comes from right here in Australia: MIA, a short film about 10-year-old skater Mia Kretzer, who’s learning more than just tricks at her local skatpark- she’s discovering what it means to fall, get up and keep chasing her dreams. With grit and infectious joy, Mia embodies the very heart of the tour’s mission.

Festival founder and director Jemima Robinson says this year's program represents the very essence of what the Gutsy Girls Tour is all about.

“This tour was born from a desire to see more women represented in adventure storytelling. Nine years on, I’m still blown away by the passion and bravery these filmmakers and athletes bring to the screen,” says Robinson. “The 2025 tour is a powerful reminder that adventure is about more than the summit—it’s about grit, growth, and going for it.”

With stories from Germany to New Zealand, Squamish to the Arlberg, this is a festival for anyone who’s ever craved adventure—or admired those who chase it.

The Gutsy Girls Adventure Film Tour 2025 hits screens across Australia this August. Gather your crew, grab a ticket, and prepare to be inspired.
