Bette Midler brought to life on the Araluen stage by award-winning stage sensation

The Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture’s Araluen Arts Centre presents award-winning stage sensation Catherine Alcorn in her hilarious portrayal of Bette Midler in The Divine Miss Bette.

“Ms Alcorn has been awarded the Best Cabaret Production for The Divine Miss Bette by the Broadway World Awards 2018 and comes to Alice Springs off the back off her second tour of the United States. The Araluen Arts Centre is proud to present this thrilling tribute to Alice Springs,” Acting Director of the Araluen Cultural Precinct, Mr Micheal Smith said.

"Catherine Alcorn is a renowned Australian artist with a magnificent voice."

The Divine Miss Bette pays homage to Midler’s performances at the Palace Theatre, New York in 1973 with a range of her early classics including The Rose, Wind Beneath My Wings, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and In The Mood, backed by an electrifying live band.

“Ms Alcorn was trained by Steve Ostrow, the man who discovered Bette Midler, to prepare for the role and she has won national critical acclaim for her performance,” Mr Smith said.

The Divine Miss Bette is a combination of razor-sharp wit and powerhouse vocals, and Alice Springs is guaranteed to have a great night.”

The Divine Miss Bette will be live onstage at the Araluen Arts Centre on Saturday 16 March, 8.00pm.

Ticket prices are $60.00 for adults, $57.50 for concession and $55.00 for Araluen Arts Centre Members. Araluen Arts Centre Members with a concession card can purchase tickets for $50. Tickets are available online at www.araluenartscentre.nt.gov.au or from the Araluen Box Office on (08) 8951 1122.
