COVID19 impact on scheduled performances

The Araluen Arts Centre has assessed its upcoming scheduled events under the risk assessment tool provided by the Northern Territory Government. It is with much sadness that we must announce that the following events have been cancelled:

The Australian Bee Gees Show
Alice Springs Beanie Festival 2020
The Advocate Art Award 2020
Steve Sedergreen with Darcy Davis and the Liminal State Quartet
The 2020 Sydney International Piano Competition Winner
Bell Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors
Melbourne International GuitarFestival Winner Yuki Saito

The following events have also been postponed:

Flickerfest 2020 scheduled for 20-21 March has been postponed, date TBC
Duprada Dance Company's performance of Swan Lake scheduled for 27-28 March has been postponed, date TBC
The Gospel According to Paul scheduled for 8 April has been posponed, date TBC
The Ukulele Kid's Show scheduled for 2 May has been postponed, date TBC
The Yarrenyty Arltere Artists exhibition scheduled to open 5 May has been postponed until 2021
Barking Gecko Theatre’s My Robot scheduled for 6-7 May has been postponed, date TBC
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow scheduled for 8 May has been postponed until 2021\ 
Banff Mountain Film Festival scheduled for 29 May has been postponed to 8 October 2020
GUTS Dance // Central Australia’s Value for Money scheduled for 4 – 6 June has been postponed, date TBC
Monkey Baa Theatre Company's Edward the Emu scheduled for 13 and 15 June has been postponed, date TBC
Urzila Carlson: Token African scheduled for 19 June has been postponed to Sunday 29 November, 2020
Freya Tripp's exhibition Spaces - Places - Possessions has been postponed until 2021
Bluey's Big Play: The Stage Show scheduled for 13-14 October has been postponed to Friday 26 March, 2021.
BJORN AGAIN Mamma Mia Here We Go Again scheduled for 16 October, has been postponed to 5 March, 2021

The following events have been extended:

The Alice Prize 2020 will now run until Monday 3 August
Neridah Stockley's exhibition Hermannsburg and Paint will open Friday 14 August and run until Sunday 8 November

Whilst these decisions are sad, they have been made to ensure public safety.

We will keep all patrons up to date should further announcements on cancellations and postponements take place.

The Araluen Galleries currently remains open to the general public. We have updated our cleaning policies and encourage everyone to consider all the recommended precautions before visiting the gallery spaces (ie washing hands, staying away if you are sick).

We have also revised our procedures around public events such as opening night functions and floor talks - these events, like the opening night winner's announcement of The Alice Prize, have been also cancelled indefinitely to minimise the risk to our patrons.

All pre-purchased tickets will be refunded , excluding booking fees. The Araluen Box Office staff will be in contact to organise refunds. We have a small team working through this so please be patient as we work through our lists.
