Join artists and art centres for the launch of Desert Mob 2026 and celebration of the Vincent Lingiari Art Award!
Be among the first to see the Desert Mob Exhibition at the Exhibition Preview and enjoy the opportunity to view works by hundreds of desert artists across both Desert Mob and the Vincent Lingiari Art Award exhibition before both go online from 9am (ACST) Friday 11 September.
As the sun sets, Desert Mob 2026 will be officially opened with special guests followed by the announcement of the Vincent Lingiari Art Award winners.
Continue the celebration of Desert Mob under the stars with live music and entertainment and food and beverages on offer from local food vendors.
This event is all ages and free to attend.

Desert Mob is proudly presented by Desart in Mparntwe, on Arrernte Country and is supported by the NT Government through Arts NT, Tourism and Events NT, and the Community Benefit Fund, Creative Australia, and the Australian Government’s Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Strategy and the Visual Arts and Crafts Strategy. The Vincent Lingiari Art Award is presented by Desart and the Central Land Council.
The Opening Night is one of many events that makes up Desert Mob, one of the nation’s most significant Aboriginal art events. Desert Mob is an unmissable celebration of the art, stories, cultural connection and vitality of hundreds of artists from 35 Art Centres across central desert Country.
